About the Dutchess County Association of REALTORS

The Dutchess County Association of REALTORS® (DCAR) advocates for homeownership rights across New York’s Hudson Valley and has supported the region’s real estate community for almost a century. With more than 1,100 REALTOR® and Affiliate members, DCAR is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and powered by 15+ active committees, reflecting our belief that REALTORS® don’t just sell homes—they serve their communities.

What We Do

  • Advocacy: As the local arm of NAR, DCAR protects private property rights, promotes smart growth and fair housing, and engages lawmakers through initiatives like REALTOR® Lobby Day. We raise $25,000–$30,000 annually for RPAC to support policies that strengthen homeownership.

  • Professional Standards: All members uphold the NAR Code of Ethics. DCAR administers ethics education and the professional standards process—offering pathways to resolve disputes and maintain the highest level of professionalism.

  • Education: Members access robust continuing education—many classes offered live via Zoom at no cost—plus state and national training through NYSAR and NAR partnerships.

  • Community Outreach: DCAR partners with local nonprofits including Dutchess Outreach and Habitat for Humanity. We are among Dutchess Outreach’s largest not-for-profit donors, raising $25,000–$32,000 annually and volunteering at programs like the Lunch Box and Farm Stand.

  • Networking & Leadership: From FUEL networking mixers and educational luncheons to the Holiday Installation & Awards Dinner, members connect, collaborate, and lead through committee service.

Mission: To provide programs and services that support and enhance our members’ ability to excel and to better serve the communities in which they work and live.

Vision: DCAR serves, supports, and inspires excellence in the real estate community.
